Recruiting for Recruiters (R4R)

Training and Development

A Fortune 100 client was undergoing massive growth and needed to hire a wave of Recruiters and Sourcers to meet the company’s aggressive hiring goals.  They were faced with four challenging issues and enlisted us for a solution.

SCALABILITY

Our client needed to scale quickly and could not hire TA staff fast enough to keep pace with growth.  Retention was also a major issue.

LACK of SOURCING ORIENTATION

Our client's recruiting environment required strong sourcing orientation, which many Recruiters being considered for the roles lacked.

PRICING

At the height of the "War for Talent" in Silicon Valley, pay rates for experienced TA staff were cost-prohibitive.  It just didn't make sense to pay a veteran's price for novice type tasks.

LACK of TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Many Recruiters in the existing candidate pool lacked the technical foundation to adapt to and understand our client's ever changing technologies.

SOLUTION

Along with hiring seasoned Recruiters & Sourcers, we also designed a Bootcamp to train new Sourcers who had no previous staffing experience.  Custom curriculum included course topics that would prepare entry-level Sourcers to hit the ground running after 3 weeks.  Topics included technical and functional concepts relevant to the client, advanced sourcing strategies, employment laws and candidate/manager engagement techniques.

IMPLEMENTATION

The custom training solution was deployed in two phases.  Wave 1 was hosted onsite at our facility.  Wave 2 shifted to the client’s campus, integrated a Mentorship Program and beefed up with client-specific tribal knowledge.  We hired and trained 27 candidates as Junior Sourcers.  The bootcamps augmented the hiring blitz and helped us achieve a total of 84 hires.

QUANTIFIED

To measure the long-term success and efficiency of our training solution, we tracked the recruiting careers of those whom we trained as entry-level Sourcers over the four years following the first wave of Bootcamp trainees were hired.
